While our friends lay within uncertainty’s keep, we cannot rest. We run in our sleep, in our minds, and our hearts are racing towards those dragged away from us. We wake up to telephone calls from faraway detention centers, anxious, garbled voice – their communication cut short. We are unable to ignore what it felt like to see them in freedom, their beautiful faces cutting through the fog in crowd on the dancefloor.

It's been a hard two weeks for us all. Thank you to those who have supported our efforts so far in freeing our friends - words simply aren't enough. We present to you this compilation as an entreaty, pledge, and salve. All proceeds will go towards legal aid for our friends currently held under threat of deportation. We are preparing these funds and ourselves for a long, arduous fight. May this music uplift you during this dark time. We know everyone could use a bit of healing right now.

Dimseniya is a benefit compilation by Friends for Friends. We are forever grateful to all the artists who so quickly agreed to be a part of this and contributed their music for free. All proceeds will go towards lawyers’ and/or bond fees for our dear friends. Let's keep them at home.
